Each year the Lake Yacht Racing Association closely monitors yacht performance for its Boat of the Year award. To be considered boats must compete in at least three Tier I events and four Tier II events. A boat and crew must factor in the location of the LYRA Annual Regatta each year as the course racing is required as acomponent of this prize. Of course several other championships and regattas do change location each year but for the most part a competitor can plan early for the season.
The locations of BOTY Events are illustrated below, remember you can't win if you don't travel and particpate. This award is representative of the LYRA spirit and legacy, as an Association of Clubs.
