Who is the LYRA Delegate?

LYRA as and organization of Member Clubs, Associate Member Clubs, and Affiliated Organizations relies on an elected board to forward the objectives of the Organization as outlined in the Constitution. To that end the Members identify delegates to bring their concerns and issues before the elected Executive Committee. These delegates represent their respective clubs with voting rights at the LYRA Annual General Meeting. The LYRA Annual General Meeting is held each November and hosted by a Member Club.

The Role of the LYRA Delegate.

As the primary contact through which LYRA can forward information the Delegate should be able to relay pertinent information to the club flag officers and members. Delegates should be able to bring the concerns of the Member Club to not only the AGM but before all clubs through but not limited to the LYRA Executive Committee. Delegates are encouraged to be aware of LYRA initiatives and be able to advance the agenda of the organization.

Please make sure your club is represented. If you need further information please contact Mike Foley.

It is generally accepted that a Member Club will identify delegates that will represent the clubs interests at the AGM. The Delegates should arrive at the AGM with a letter of introduction from the Member Club Commodore or board of elected officers. Member Clubs are allowed 3 voting delegates, Associate Members and Affiliated Organizations are afforded one voting delegate. Note: the AGM is open to all Members and we are genuinely interested in hearing the concerns of all. More than the allotted voting delegates are welcome but only those with the specified criteria may vote.
