The Stolze Cup, representative of the LYRA Match Racing Championship, was contested alongside the York Cup August 6-7 at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club. Peter Wickwire and crew from RCYC won the event and the right to represent LYRA and RCYC at the Richardson Trophy Regatta for the match racing championship of the Great Lakes. Here is an article with results and some pictures. The Richardson Trophy Regatta was held at the Chicago Match Race Center October 7-9. Wickwire and his team placed third of 11 teams after two days of racing in beautiful conditions and a final frustrating day in light air. The second LYRA team at the Richardson, skippered by Magnus Sandberg of National Yacht Club, placed seventh. More details on the event can be found here. |
